A KENDAL man has been warned he could be sent to prison after being caught with drugs.

Keiran George, 20, of Nether Street, was due to be sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court having pleading guilty to possessing cannabis bush.

But the hearing was adjourned because probation officers had not been able to prepare a pre-sentence report since George had missed an appointment with them.

His barrister Alison Whalley said the report would be useful because it would look at how George had been affected by the death of his sister and ill treatment by his father.

George was bailed on condition he obeys a curfew to keep him indoors every night from 7pm to 8am.

He will now be sentenced on September 10.

Judge Paul Batty QC warned him all sentencing options, including prison, were still open.
