Two men have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences in County Durham after police seized five kilos of cannabis.

Officers stopped a Volkswagen Polo car in Sherburn Village, on the outskirts of Durham City, at about 2130 BST on Wednesday night.

They recovered cannabis bush with an estimated street value of
35,000.

Two men, aged 36 and 27, were arrested and bailed on suspicion of possession of a drug with intent to supply.
