Hi

August 12, 2010

Cannabis worth thousands of pounds has been seized following raids on two houses in Middleton.

More than 100 plants and cultivation equipment were found in a bedroom at a house on Elmbank Road at 5.30pm on Wednesday.

A search warrant was executed later on Oakdene Road, where police found more than 150 plants in a loft. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of production of a Class B drug and cautioned.

Pc Rob Smith said: “This is an excellent result both for police and more importantly for the community. We have recovered a lot of cannabis plants which could yield hundreds of pounds worth of drugs that could otherwise have found their way onto the streets of our communities and into circulation.”

Anyone with information about the supply of drugs can call police on 0161 872 5050 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
