UK : Four charged after
1.5m cannabis haul

Four people have been charged after
1.5m worth of cannabis plants were seized by police in Royton and Middleton.

Stephen Cotton, aged 42, of Penryn Avenue, Royton was charged with three counts of production of cannabis, one count of possession of cannabis with intent to supply, one count of abstracting electricity, three counts of possession of cannabis and one count of possession of cocaine.

He was charged along with John Paul Bilal, aged 47 of Windermere Road, Middleton who was charged with three counts of production of cannabis, one count of possession of cannabis with intent to supply, one count of abstracting electricity and two counts of possession of cannabis.

Paula Carroll, aged 44, of Tandle Hill Terrace, Rochdale was also charged with production of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and abstracting electricity.

Michael Ian Green, aged 38, of Bwlchtocyn, Pwllheli was charged with production of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to supply and abstracting electricity.

The charges relate to a police investigation in which a large cannabis farm was found in Rochdale Road, Royton on Thursday, April 8.

Further plants were also found at a house on Windermere Road, Middleton. A total of 3,300 plants were recovered.

They are all due to appear before Oldham Magistrates' Court on Thursday, August 19.
