Police have seized cannabis with a street value of nearly
270,000 in one of the biggest busts involving the class B drug ever seen in Cumbria.
Officers confiscated 250 bars of the substance after arrests were made off the M6 motorway near Penrith. The massive find was made just before midday yesterday.
Two men were later charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
They were Daniel Hornshaw, 23, and Eric Fothergill, 39, both described as being unemployed and of Throstle Road, Leeds.
Both men were appearing before Carlisle Magistrates Court today to face the charges.
