Hi
Now we are a
menace
By Jack Royston
TWO cannabis factories have been uncovered in Wembley in a move Brent Police say will help tackle the
menace
of drugs.
Officers were called to a house in Burns Road after the door was left open leaving cannabis plants visible to a member of the public who was walking past at around 5pm, on Sunday.
Police searched the building and found cannabis plants in all rooms apart from the kitchen and the bathroom.
Another factory was found in Maybank Avenue after electricians visited to fix a fault and noticed a strong smell of the drug.
Police searched the building on Sunday, which was using so much power the electricity company already suspceted the owners, and found four rooms full of cannabis plants.
Officers searched a third address in Harlesden and say they found a cannabis factory inside.
One man has been arrested and bailed in relation to that property but no other arrests have been made.
Jo Cavell, a spokesman for the police, said:
Three cannabis factories in Brent have been dismantled and this will have disrupted the flow of drugs onto the streets of Brent.
Brent police have demonstrated that with good community intelligence, effective action can and will be taken to reduce the menace of drugs within the community in order to make Brent a safer place to live.
