CANNABIS plants were found by police at a house in Staunton.

The plants were found by police at a property in Sladbrook Lane when they were searching for a missing person on the evening of Friday, July 30.

The 24 plants were found in a trailer fitted out with lights, which was inside a barn on the premises.

The plants were confiscated and destroyed, and the property owner, a 51-year-old man, was given a formal caution for the cultivation and possession of cannabis.

The missing man for whom the police were looking was later found safe and well
